Living In Cambodia

Education in Cambodia

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in Cambodia is responsible for the development of the national curriculum and the assessment and development of schools and universities across the country.

In the past decade the Ministry has worked hard to improve the standards and availability of education in Cambodia however a lot still needs to be done.  The number of educational establishments has increased but the quality of teaching staff and the availability of teaching materials still leaves a lot to be desired.

Jobs in Cambodia

The majority of jobs filled by western expatriates in Cambodia are either in the field of teaching or with the numerous aid agencies that operate within the Kingdom; there are however a growing number of jobs in the tourism industry and because significant oil and natural gas reserves have been found in the territorial waters of Cambodia recently it’s likely that this is an alternative field of employment that will open up to external contractors in the future.

Jobs in Cambodia are quite difficult to source unless an individual approaches specialist recruiters or the aid agencies who work in Cambodia directly.  Here’s a guide to finding jobs in Cambodia and what to expect from the working environment.
